OVP medical and burial assistance program crippled by lack of funding

THE OFFICE of the Vice President (OVP) has issued a public apology after its Medical and Burial Assistance Program received zero budget under the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

In an official statement, the OVP informed the public that the lack of funding would severely impact the program’s ability to provide assistance to those in need.

“Without a dedicated budget, we will be unable to continue providing crucial support to our beneficiaries,” the OVP statement read.

The news of the defunding has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with many netizens expressing sadness and dismay over the potential impact on vulnerable individuals.
