THE DAVAO City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) continuously encouraged the riding public to purchase tickets through their online booking to skip the long queues in bus terminal areas.
In an interview, Aisa Usop, DCOTT manager, said this will also be in preparation for the influx of passengers for the upcoming holiday season.
“Naga-start nagyud og ka-dagsa ang atoang mga pasahero especially for the incoming All Souls and All Saints day. If we have 700-800 bus trips a day equivalent to 35k to 50k passengers, during these peak months, we could reach about 1,000-1,500 bus trips per day, and that is equivalent to 50-K-75-K passengers in our terminal,” Usop said.
Usop said passengers who already booked online will also have their seats prioritized.
“If you already secured you tickets, mag inform lang ka satoang staff and i-priority ka pagpasulod kay aron di ka mabiyaan sa bus,” she said.
She also emphasized that there may be additional fees when booking online, but still sets an advantage for those who purchase tickets on-site.
“On the booking page, you would see the various bus companies and their routes, bus trip schedules, and the ticket fees,” she said.
Usop added that the agency will still enforce the “no pickup policy” among areas in the city to ensure that all passengers are safe.
“We already coordinated also with other offices and traffic agencies, the Land Transportation Office and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) as well. We also coordinated with bus operators to apply for special permits, and LTFRB has a big role in monitoring the conditions of the buses,” she added.
Last Sept. 4, DCOTT recently opened its P1.7 million rehabilitated passengers’ entrance to smoothen terminal transactions further.
