Cebu City – NUSTAR Resort Cebu joined millions around the globe in observing Earth Hour on March 22, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability. The resort turned off facade lights and dimmed lighting across the property for one hour, including in the Fili Lobby, Poolside Garden, Fina, and other key areas.
Beyond the meaningful gesture, NUSTAR curated a cultural experience that celebrated both tradition and sustainability. Guests were treated to special performances of Pandanggo sa Ilaw, Sayaw sa Bangko, and Harana, held at the Poolside Garden, Fili Café, Fina, and Il Primo, creating an atmosphere of reflection and celebration. These performances were handpicked to reflect traditional Filipino celebrations from a time when access to power was limited, highlighting the beauty and resourcefulness of cultural practices that rely on natural light and human connection.
In addition to the cultural performances, guests were invited to a unique dining experience at the NUSTAR Poolside Gardens. This special event offered priceless views of Cebu City switching off lights in unison with the hour-long global tribute to Mother Earth.
The resort’s participation in Earth Hour 2025 reinforces its ongoing efforts to implement eco-friendly practices and promote environmental awareness. NUSTAR Resort Cebu remains committed to contributing to a healthier planet for generations to come.
