Mayor Sara Duterte is open to bringing back the Roxas Night Market once the general community quarantine (GCQ) is lifted in Davao City.
“Of course, we do not want that we open next year because it will delay the employment and business of the people,” the mayor said in her regular radio program.
For now, however, she said the local government’s hands are tied because of the restrictions ingrained in the GCQ.
“But hopefully, if we graduate from quarantine, hopefully we can bring back Roxas Night Market this year,” she added.
Meanwhile, the mayor said there are only 34 houses, four compounds, and one street that have been placed on lockdown in the city.
The barangays that are classified as very high risk and high-risk areas include 22-C, 23-C, Agdao Proper,
Bucana, Buhangin Proper, Cabantian, Leon Garcia, Ma-a, Matina Crossing, 19-B, Talomo Proper, Wilfredo Aquino, 1-A, 15-B, 25-C, 26-C, 31-D, 37-D, 39-D, 40-D, Tomas Monteverde, Magtuod, and Waan.
The barangays classified as “moderate risk” are 3-A, 6-A, 8-A, 9-A, 10-A, 11-A, 12-B, 13-B, 14-B, 20-B, 21-C, 27-C, 34-D, Angliongto, Bago Gallera, Bago Oshiro, Baliok, Bangkas Heights, Bunawan Proper, Calinan Proper, Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeño, Centro (San Juan, Agdao), Communal, Daliao
Dumoy, Gov. Bangoy, Gov. Duterte, Ilang, Indangan, Langub, Mabuhay (Paquibato), Malagos, Matina Aplaya, Matina Pangi, Mintal, Pampanga, Panacan, Rafael Castillo, Saloy, San Antonio, San Isidro/Licanan
Sasa. Sto. Niño, Tacunan, Talomo River, Tibungco, Tigatto, Toril Proper, and Vicente Hizon Sr.
“We are also reminding Davaoeños not to go near their neighbor or someone they know who just arrived from another area,” she said.
She said that locally stranded individuals who arrived from the other regions are subjected to a health screening. “They should also comply with the 14-day quarantine,” she added.
For now, there are 180 individuals who are admitted to the Southern Philippines Medical Center and the COVID-19 centers. But not all of them are confirmed positive. The mayor said Davao City has 119 active cases with 254 recoveries and 30 deaths.
