NHA XI suspends collection on amortization, lease payments covering Nov. 1-30

THE NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) implements a month-long moratorium on the housing amortization and lease payments of beneficiaries for November.

NHA accommodated the October request of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development to suspend collection to benefit particularly the homeowners affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

During the Habi at Kape on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Engr. Fileleo O. Beltran, NHA XI acting admin officer, said the agency will also not impose any fines or additional interest during the period.

“All deadlines for our residential clients fall between Nov. 1-30, 2024 are waived,” Beltran said.

He added the beneficiaries are not compelled to pay surcharges, interests, and penalties for the whole month. Clients may still opt to pay for November, there will be a hierarchy as to when this payment will be applied.

Payment for the amortization and lease will resume on Dec. 1.

However, Beltran said NHA decided to also apply the moratorium to all beneficiaries nationwide. So, including the collectibles, about 12,000 residents from the region can benefit from the adjustment.

In July this year, NHA also implemented a moratorium for beneficiaries in the National Capital Region, and Regions III and IV affected by Typhoon Carina.
