BRIGADIER General Aligre Lamsen Martinez, the newly appointed acting regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO) XI will enhance collaboration and community engagement to achieve safety and order.
During his assumption ceremony on April 26, he pledged to continue the existing strategic directives of PNP Director General Rommel Francisco Marbil while implementing tactical activities at the regional level.
When asked about his priorities for PRO XI, Martinez said, “The PNP is involved in actions primarily in the prevention aspect and the crime solutions, those will be the focus of our action.”
Martinez outlined three key areas of focus:
- On enhancing leadership: He stressed the importance of strong leadership qualities within the ranks.
- Effective Law Enforcement: He is committed to upholding the law, fighting crime and utilizing best practices.
- Building Trust: He emphasized community satisfaction and improved public trust in the police.
During his assumption speech, he urged the PNP personnel to improve the quality of leadership knowledge, ability, and professionalism within ranks. He also asked them to improve their ability to uphold the law, maintain order, and fight local and transnational crimes in all their forms.
“We will strive to increase the level of trust from the people we protect. We focus on community satisfaction in our work as a key benchmark to our progress,” he further said.
“As I take this new role. I want to emphasize that the strategic guidance and direction the chief PNP has set shall be operationalized and tactical activities will be placed in effect up to the last unit of this police regional office. This implementing operational and tactical programs, projects, and activities, shall be understood, supervised, monitored, and ensure its accomplishments,” Martinez said in his message.
Combating illegal drugs
Martinez stressed a collaborative approach to drug enforcement, involving various sectors beyond simple law enforcement. He highlighted the importance of police intelligence in addressing the drug problem.
Martinez called for a partnership between the police and the community, urging residents to be proactive in addressing public safety concerns.
