Nearly P2.5-M in fines collected in DCPO road operations

THE POLICE collected nearly P2.5 million in fines from violators following a simultaneous operation on “bora-bora”(modified muffler) and other illegal accessories in different areas of the city from July 23 to 29.

Davao City Police Office chief Col Alberto Lupaz said they conducted a total of 309 operations and issued citation tickets to 62 individuals.

Additionally, they impounded 12 motorcycles, resulting in fines amounting to P48,450, and an additional P239,500 was collected for TOP violations.

Further, the team conducted 113 operations related to RA 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code), resulting in the issuance of 384 Temporary Operator’s Permits (TOP) and fines amounting to P968,234.

Moreover, the police executed 673 operations under C.O 0334-12 (Local Traffic Code), issuing 2,591 Citation Tickets and collecting fines worth P 1,234,400.

In total, the operations from all stations and units resulted in P2,490,584 fines collected from all violators.

“[Our] dedication ensures the safety and orderliness of our roads, making our community a better place for everyone,” the DCPO said in a statement.
