A MULTI-VEHICLE collision along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Binugao, Toril, resulted in minor injuries to four individuals and significant damage to four vehicles on Thursday morning, May 1, 2025.
According to the initial report from the Toril Police Station, the incident occurred at approximately 10:28 a.m. in front of the G-oil Gas Station.
The vehicles involved in the pile-up were identified as a Suzuki Ertiga with plate number MA 4582, a Kawasaki motorcycle (L356BX), a Ford Ranger (LAP 5660), and a Fuzo cargo dropside truck (MCP 188).
The Suzuki Ertiga was driven by 35-year-old Reynante Asto Bejona, a self-employed resident of Malungon, Sarangani Province, who was traveling with his wife, Aphrodite Bejona.
The Kawasaki motorcycle was driven by Rico Beduya Monsuller, a self-employed resident of Tagum City, and his passenger was identified as 17-year-old Karl Monsuller. The Ford Ranger was driven by Karel Ian Limjuco Dayo, a 32-year-old dentist residing in Davao City. The Fuzo truck was driven by Eddie Lina Matulin, 52, a resident of Toril, Davao City.
Accordingly, the Ford Ranger was traveling along MacArthur Highway towards Davao City when it was hit on the rear by the Fuzo truck, which was then crossing the road. Dayo lost control of the pick-up truck and crashed into the motorcycle that was traveling in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, Bejona could not brake on time and hit the already damaged motorcycle.
Both drivers of the Ertiga and the motorcycle, along with the other passengers, Aphrodite Bejona and Karl Monsuller, sustained minor injuries. They were transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center by Central 911.
