MTE targets P12M in sales at Kadayawan Fair

The Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation Inc. (MTEFI) said it is targeting a total of P12 million in sales for the 2024 Kadayawan fair, which runs from August 11 to 17.

During the MTE event opening, MTEFI president Dr. Rosevic Del Rosario-Cembrano said in her speech that local exhibitors have consistently generated high foot traffic, translating to high sales in several business engagements.

“True enough, this year we have received an overwhelming number of applications from interested exhibitors not just from the Davao region, but all over Mindanao and Central Visayas,” Cembrano said.

The week-long expo showcases the ingenuity of local artisans and the potential of products originating from Mindanao.

Cembrano highlighted the MTE as a supportive market platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), helping them connect to a wider market and enhance their skills.

“This year, MTEFI highlights the crucial significance of MSMEs by facilitating greater market accessibility and encouraging innovation and product development as essential elements for fostering sustainable competitiveness, with the aim of ensuring long-term success for these enterprises,” she said.

She added that exhibitors will also have a chance to engage with institutional buyers such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, malls, specialty stores, condominiums and residences, traders and subcontractors, designers, walk-in mall-goers, and consumers from the Davao Region, nearby regions, and provinces.

MTE Kadayawan 2024 will feature approximately 150 local exhibitors from all over Mindanao with products ranging from arts and crafts, home décor and housewares, furniture and furnishings, fashion accessories and textiles, beauty and wellness products, fresh and processed food, and tourist destinations.

The MTE Kadayawan 2024 is in partnership with the City Government of Davao, the Davao City Investment Promotion Office, the Davao City Tourism Operations Office, the Department of Trade and Industry XI, the Department of Agriculture XI, the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PhilExport), and Ayala Malls Abreeza.
