A MOTORCYCLE rider died after smashing into a parked truck along Carlos P. Garcia Highway, specifically at Outland Adventure, Talomo, around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, identified him as Vincent Jay Martinez Asoy, 25, a resident of Sitio Mojon, Barangay Langub,
Investigation revealed that the motorcycle was heading toward Langub Road from St. Francis Assisi Parish Church when he hit the parked truck driven by Daniel Puyos Bolonia, 60, a resident of P-6 Patrocinio, Santa Josefa, Agusan del Sur.
Due to the impact, the rider was thrown from the motorcycle and onto the road.
Responding paramedics from Central 911 attempted to provide medical assistance but unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Both vehicles involved, along with the truck driver, are now in the custody of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) for proper disposition.
