
POLICE launched a manhunt on a pick-up truck driver who sped away after a fatal hit-and-run incident at the intersection of R. Castillo Street and Arroyo Street just after midnight on Thursday, April 25.
The incident killed a motorcycle driver and injured the back rider.
According to the initial police report, the motorcycle was traveling along R. Castillo Street toward Agdao when it was hit by a black pick-up truck bearing plate number LAK 1077, which came from J.P. Laurel Avenue.
The motorcycle driver was identified as Junriel Eroles Adlao, 37, a resident of R. Castillo Street, San Jose, Ipil, Agdao, and a bagger at NCCC Mall.
He was declared dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel, according to the Davao City Police Office.
The back rider, Sicily P. Aro, 35, was a cashier at NCCC Mall residing in P-3 Isla Verde, Barangay 23-C, was transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
The pick-up truck driver fled toward Arroyo Street after the incident.
Police are conducting a follow-up investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Adlao’s remains were taken to Angel Funeral Parlor.
