More private partners for Kadayawan 2018

More private firms are expected to partner with the city government for this years’ Kadayawan, which will have a total budget of P44 million—P12 million from the local government and P32 million will be raised by the private sectors.

One of the festival organizers expressed optimism that the P32-M target will be achieved as more private firms have expressed their interest to sponsor the grandest festival of the city.

By far, the SM Development Corporation (SMDC) is the biggest sponsor.

Assistant City Administrator Tristan Dwight Domingo confirmed SMDC gave a check worth P3 million for the festival.

Being the biggest sponsor, SMDC will get to choose the date for their events.

This is also the first time that SMDC will sponsor the Kadayawan.

“This is a huge thing for our festival. This is the first time that SMDC is sponsoring us and this is the highest sponsorship so far,” Domingo said in a statement.

More partnerships from huge firms are expected for the celebration, especially that last year’s Kadayawan was rated with a perfect 10 by Mayor Sara Duterte.

In 2017, the city was able to gather 16 million of sponsorship from the private sector despite the imposition of Martial Law. For this year, even though Martial Law has not been fully taken down yet, more sponsorship from first time companies and repeating private firms are expected as the 2018 is set to be grander and bigger than last year’s festival.
