More classrooms

The city has 21 new school buildings, with 60 new classrooms, ready for this school year.

In her privilege speech during yesterday’s City Council regular session, Committee on Education chair Councilor Pilar Braga reported that the projects in the different city public schools, funded by the local government’s Special Education Fund, are ready for turnover as early as April 30.

Braga said these projects, amounting around P130 million, will greatly benefit the school children.

Most of the new school buildings are in the far-flung barangays in the third districts.

Getting the biggest project is the Talomo Central Elementary School in Talomo District with a two-storey, six-classroom building worth P11.125 million.
Other schools in the Talomo District getting new buildings are Baliok High School (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,450,000) and Matina Pangi National High School (Annex) (two-storey, four-classroom worth P7,300,000).

In the Second District, new schools are added in: Buhisan High School (Extension), Tibungco District (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,450,000);

Panaga National High School (Labo Campus), Paquibato District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P6,500,000);

Paquibato National High School (Mabuhay Campus), Paquibato District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Malabog National High School (Binaton Campus), Paquibato District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Malabog National High School (Pamantawan Campus), Barangay Malabog, Paquibato District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000).

The schools in the third district getting the new buildings are:

Marilog National High School (Lumata Campus), Marilog District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Marilog National High School (Magsaysay Campus), Marilog District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Tacunan Elementary School, Mintal District (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,450,000);

Malalan Elementary School, Baguio District (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,500,000);

Matina Biao Elementary School, Tugbok District (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,300,000);

Talandang National High School (New Valencia Campus), Tugbok District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Talandang National High School (New Valencia Campus), Tugbok District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Calinan National High School, Calinan District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Dacudao National High School (Dalagdag Campus), Calinan District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);

Bayabas Elementary School, Toril District (two-storey, four-classroom building worth P7,450,000);

Crossing Bayabas National High School (Lubogan Campus), Toril District (one-storey, two-classroom building worth P5,000,000);
