A BARANGAY chairman of Monkayo, Davao de Oro was shot to death while he was about to park his car in his residence Sunday evening.
The police report identified the victim as Pedro J. Samillano Jr., 62, widow, Brgy. Captain of Mt. Diwata, and a resident of Purok 15, Amakan Village, Brgy. Poblacion, Monkayo.
Based on the initial result of the investigation, Samillano was parking his vehicle in front of his house when someone parked a motorcycle just meters from him. The person approached Samillano and shot him several times.
Rescuers immediately brought him to the Davao De Oro Provincial Hospital in Montevista, but the attending physician declared him dead.
Investigators recovered three cartridge cases of a .45 caliber pistol which they believed was used in the crime. They were still establishing the motive of the crime and the people behind it.
