MAYOR Sebastian Duterte demanded an answer from Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Rommel Marbil after he ordered the recall of 75 police personnel security detail for Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Kinahanglan niya ug pulis ibutang ta no pulis, 75 imong gipangita? (He needs police, his looking for 75?) Mukuha ka ug usa sa Davao, mukuha ka ug usa sa Gensan, mukuha ka ug usa sa Mati, mukuha ka ug usa diri, didto, dinha (You will get one in Davao, one in General Santos, one in Mati, one from here and there),” the mayor said in an interview with SMNI in the sidelines of Maisug rally in Cagayan de Oro city on Saturday, July 27.
“I’m sure makakita ka ug 75 kabuok nga kuhaon nimo sa tibuok Pilipinas bisan usa lang sa isa ka stasyon sa Davao o sa bisan unsang lugar ma fulfill na nimo imohang ginapangita nga number of individuals or heads nga kinahanglan nimo i-recall para makadungag ka (I’m sure you can find 75 from the entire country, even if just from Davao station or in other place, you can meet the numbers that you need to recall),” he said.
“O karon ngano kinahanglan man nimo kuhaon sa usa ka source nga security detail. So, tubaga na. Tubaga na (So now, why do you need to get from one source of security detail, So answer that),” he further said.
Seventy-five Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel assigned to the Vice Presidential Security Group VPSG were relieved of duty without prior notice, an official confirmed to TIMES on Tuesday.
Among those relieved were 33 close-in security personnel who had served the vice president since her time as mayor.
“Even I was surprised,” an officer stated. “No justification was given.”
“Hopefully VPSPG will still be intact and will not compromise the security of VP once ma integrate kami totally in the Presidential Security Command (PSC),” the officer further said.
