SIX-FOOT-SEVEN big man Mason Amos bade farewell to the Ateneo Blue Eagles after one season in the UAAP as he officially announced his transfer to rival De La Salle Green Archers.
The 19-year-old center is the latest player to depart the Eagles after Kai Ballungay, Jared Brown, and Geo Chiu.
In his only season with Ateneo, he averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1 assist per game. He also averaged 42.86% from the three-point line, good for second in the league.
Amos will sit out this upcoming season due to residency rules. He is eligible to play for the Green Archers in 2025
In an Instagram post, he thanked the Ateneo community for the opportunity the school has given him.
“To the Ateneo community, I am grateful for the opportunities you have given me. I am grateful for the memories I have been able to create and cherish. I am grateful to all the great people I have met during my time. I am grateful for all the challenges you have presented me. I am grateful that I was able to be apart of something bigger than myself. I’m am forever thankful for the love you have given me constantly day in and day out. I am forever grateful for my classmates, all my professors and everyone that helped me with my schooling experience. I love Ateneo and that will forever be there.
“It may be a goodbye but You will always have a place in my heart.” Amos wrote.
