LTO Davao offers free driving courses, new Quimpo office opens

IN CELEBRATION of Road Safety Month, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region XI is offering free theoretical driving courses to selected student permit applicants in Davao.

This is part of a nationwide initiative by LTO to promote safe driving practices.

While the exact numbers for the Davao Region haven’t been finalized, LTO XI regional director Eleanor Calderon on Wednesday assures residents the agency will be conducting outreach programs in barangays throughout the region. Specific details about target beneficiaries and locations will be announced soon.

Regular programs continue alongside Road Safety Month activities

The LTO emphasizes its commitment to ongoing programs as part of the Road Safety Month.

She said these include mobile caravans, outreach programs in barangays (reaching areas like Baganihan and Marilog in Davao City), and educational campaigns aimed at students in partnership with the Department of Education.

New LTO building opens in Quimpo Boulevard

Davao City residents can now avail of LTO services at the newly opened office on Quimpo Boulevard.

Calderon said this aims to decongest the existing office in Ecoland and provide a more convenient location for clients.

Plans for expansion

Calderon said the LTO is conducting studies to identify potential areas for establishing additional extension offices within Davao City and the region.

She added that the goal is to bring LTO services closer to the communities.
