Leo Magno urges private sector to support gov’t business ventures

PRESIDENTIAL Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Leo Magno urged the private sector to support government projects and businesses in Davao Region considering the limited public budget.

In an interview on Feb. 28, Magno said private sectors play a vital role, especially as partners in development.

Kailangan natin ng tulong galing sa private sector para mas malawak ang magagawa natin at ang mga taong maabot, kung may suporta sa private sector (We need the help of the private sector to widen our reach),” Magno said.

He also stressed that the region’s security must be given full attention as this will also greatly impact the business sector.

Walang negosyanteng mag-iinvest sa isang lugar na magulo. Ayaw na ayaw  nang pribadong sektor na mag-iinvest sa isang lugar na hindi malinaw, at walang peace and order (No business will invest in an area where chaos reigns and where there’s no peace and order),” he added.

The Office of the Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao also facilitated the updates and concerns with the Joint Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (Elcac XI) meeting, together with the local government units, different sectors, and peace players in the region. The meeting was held in Apo View Hotel on Feb. 28.
