Lawmaker calls out DPWH, DavLight

A LAWMAKER called on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) to fix road problems under their jurisdictions.

“We are calling on the DPWH to expedite their road constructions,” Councilor Dante Apostol Sr., chairperson of the franchises and public utilities committee, shared in the City Council Media Forum on Tuesday, June 25.

Apostol cited the road construction in the Damosa area as one of the projects that needed to be expedited. The DPWH shall reportedly maximize its annual budget to rush the completion of road construction projects.

The city council also requested the Davao Light and Power Company and other telecommunication companies to remove electric posts erected in the middle of public roads.

“Far-flung areas sama sa Panacan ug Tibungco ang daghan kaayo ug mga poste sa tunga sa kalsada,” Apostol said.

Apostol assured the public that the city council is in constant cooperation with concerned authorities to address the long-standing traffic congestion problem.
