LOS ANGELES, CA – “Jung Kook: I Am Still,” the captivating documentary chronicling BTS star Jung Kook’s solo journey, continues to dominate the global box office, with a final theatrical gross of $18.5-M with approximately 1.38 million admissions.
As the highest-grossing music cinema event of 2024, it has also made history as the top-grossing film by an Asian solo musical artist, bolstered by ongoing success in Japan where the film grossed $4.6 million.
Directed by Junsoo Park, and delving into the eight-month period following Jung Kook’s historic solo debut with the RIAA platinum-certified single “Seven (feat. Latto)” in July 2023, “Jung Kook: I Am Still” offers an intimate look at Jung Kook’s creative process, unwavering work ethic, and the unique challenges faced by a global popstar.
Across its opening weekend (ending Sept. 22), the film reached No.1 in Brazil; No. 2 in Mexico and Chile; No. 3 in Argentina, Colombia, Peru; and reached the top ten in North America, Germany, Italy, and Malaysia, demonstrating the undeniable appeal of Jung Kook and the enduring popularity of BTS. Due to the overwhelming early global fan demand for “Jung Kook: I Am Still,” Trafalgar Releasing and HYBE announced October 11th “PARTY EDITION” screenings, featuring the hit documentary with an additional 20 minutes of singalong videos, transforming the cinema experience into the ultimate fan celebration.
