Jingle contest launched

THE 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio has announced its “Otsenta’y Singkong Kanta-Sayaw sa Araw ng Dabaw Jingle Making Contest.”

Based on the announcement, cash prizes will be handed out to winners of the contest as the deadline for the submission of entries is set on March 15.

Organized by the city government, top three winners will receive P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000 while 15 consolation prizes will receive P1,000.

The piece will be between two minutes and three minutes in jingles either English, Tagalog, or Bisaya and must be relevant to the city’s celebration of its 85th anniversary and must be within the theme, “Mahal Kong Dabaw: Spread Love and Positivity Thru Music in the City.”

Entries must be originals and not yet used or submitted to any contest as no part should be taken from any song and its melody not copied from any song or similar product and must contain foul or offensive word.

A participant must one entry recorded in MP3 format to davaodisasterradio@gmail.com.

In submitting, participants must use the format Subject: JINGLE_85th Araw ng Dabaw/ Title of Entry/Full name/ Address/ Contact details.

The criteria for judging are 40 percent for musicality (catchy melody, lively music, rhythm), 30 percent for lyrics (coherence, ingenuity, and relevance to the theme), and 30 percent for creativity (fresh sound, unique approach to jingle writing).
