Jealousy leads husband to kill alleged wife’s lover

POLICE conducted a manhunt against the suspect who stabbed to death a tricycle driver in an alleged fit of jealousy in Barangay New Valencia, Tugbok District, on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the victim as Elmer Taboada Remoroza, 54, a resident of New Valencia, and the suspect as Elicito Manlanot Estabillo, 43, laborer, a resident of Barangay Los Amigos.

The Tugbok Police Station investigation revealed that the suspect planned the crime for a long time and was waiting for the opportunity to carry it out. Apparently, the victim reportedly had an affair with Estabillo’s wife. 

The victim’s remains lie at the Angel Funeral Parlor in Calinan District.

Tuazon called on anyone who might have information about the suspect’s whereabouts to cooperate with the police. Meanwhile, the police prepared documents to file a murder case against Estabillo.
