THE POLICE Regional Office 11 reported that three of its personnel turned out positive for COVID-19 after 84 of them underwent a reverse transcription-polymeraze chain reaction test in the Camp Quintin Merecido.
“Lahat yan sa RHQ (regional headquarters), wala pa yung sa outside RHQ,” said PRO 11 Director Filmore Escobal, adding that those found positive were all asymptomatic and were placed at the PNP isolation facility in Malagos.
The test was conducted at the new RT-PCR molecular laboratory of the PRO 11 which has been operational since February 3 after the approval of the Department of Health(DOH)-Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau and will operate until the end of the year.
Escobal, who did not identify those who were infected with the virus among the police force, said all personnel are considered frontliners and are exposed to risk of getting the virus.
However, he said, they are aware of the safety protocols, such as the proper wearing of personal protective equipment, hand-washing, and how to discard and wash their uniforms when they go home.
They are also advised to take a bath immediately to avoid risking the health of the other inhabitants in the house.
