After seven years, Shane Marie Awe brings the crown back to the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe.
Her court is composed of Muslima D. Limpao of Maranao is Hiyas sa Panaghiusa 2024 and Hiyas sa Kalambuan 2024 is Jane Rose G. Miones of Bagobo-Klata.

The newly crowned Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2024 aims to preserve the traditional “binadbad” clothing design of the tribe which is her advocacy, she said to reporters Friday night after the coronation night.
Three barangays, Brgy Atanawe, Sibulan and Baracatan in Toril district will be her target community- beneficiaries.
She added that she will collaborate with the City Tourism Operations Office on their plans for the tribe as well as the rest of the 10 ethnolinguistic tribes.
“I really want to serve not just my tribe but also to the other tribes and especially the Dabawenyos,” Awe said, stressing her focus on promoting selfless service which was highlighted in her Q and A portion.
During the Q&A portion, Awe was asked about her most treasured traditional customs that she holds personal significance.
She answered: “I am always proud that the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe are hospitable and those people love service. They always teach me to carry the torch that burns with passion and purpose to serve not just my tribes but also the 11 ethnolinguistic tribes, and to give back to the community. It talks about service, because we always believe what Albert Scheitzer once said, that one of the purposes of human life is to serve people, show compassion and to have that will to help others.”
The cash prize for this year’s Hiyas was increased, which the winners can use for a specific cause in their community.
The Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2024 received P200,000 (increased from the previous P150,000). Meanwhile, Hiyas sa Panaghiusa received a cash prize of P150,000 (from the previous P100,000), and Hiyas sa Kalambuan received P100,000 (previously P80,000).
