THE GOVERNMENT Service Insurance System (GSIS) opened its latest exhibit, “Celebrating Davao Art,” at its Museo Ng Sining in Manila last March 5, 2025. The exhibit, which runs until April 23, 2025, highlights the vibrant and diverse artistry of 14 Davao artists, bringing Mindanao’s rich culture to the nation’s capital.
Conceptualized by artists Alex Alagon and Jing Cayacay Rabat, the exhibit showcased a stunning collection of 30 painting pieces that reflects Davao’s unique artistic identity. Curator Rita Bustamante carefully selected the works to represent the region’s deep indigenous traditions, natural beauty, and contemporary themes.

GSIS Museo Ng Sining Manager Raymundo Palad expressed enthusiasm for the exhibit, emphasizing the importance of supporting regional artists and promoting cultural appreciation across the country. “This exhibition is a testament to the thriving art scene in Davao and our commitment to showcasing local talent on a national platform,” Palad said.
The exhibit was also made possible through the support of GSIS Chairman Rodolfo del Rosario Jr., whose advocacy for the arts has helped strengthen opportunities for regional artists.
The opening ceremony was attended by art enthusiasts, collectors, and government officials, who praised the exceptional works on display. The exhibit is free and open to the public, inviting art lovers to experience the creativity of Davao’s finest artists.
