GCQ for Davao city until Oct. 31

THE QUARANTINE status of Davao City has been eased to regular General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from October 1 to 31, 2021, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque said on Thursday, September 30.

This was based on the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force.

It was July 16, 2021, when President Rodrigo Duterte has placed Davao city under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) “with heightened restrictions”.

According to Roque, the city will be joined by other local government units under regular GCQ in Davao Region such as Davao Oriental and Davao del Sur.

However, the provinces of Davao Occidental, Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro will be placed under GCQ with Heightened Restrictions.

Meanwhile, Mayor Sara Duterte continues to remind Davaoeños to adhere to the safety protocols, stay away from social gatherings, and get vaccinated as the city grapples with the surge of COVID-19 cases.

As of Sept. 27, Davao City has 9,084 active COVID-19 cases of the total 49,000 cases since March 2020l 38,419 total recoveries, and 1,498 total deaths.
