Freeze: Genius Female Celebrities

Scientists confirm what women always knew: men really are the weaker sex. That’s the title of a report written by Kate Hodal in The Guardian, 15 January 2018, under the Women’s rights and gender equality section. In a nutshell, it talks about research findings that in times of famine, epidemic, and hardship over the past 250 years, women have consistently outlived men. Women are hardier than men.

In The Economist, 07 March 2015, an article states that boys are being outclassed by girls at both school and university, and the gap is widening. Further, it says, “It is a problem that would have been unimaginable a few decades ago. Until the 1960s boys spent longer and went further in school than girls, and were more likely to graduate from university. Now, across the rich world and in a growing number of poor countries, the balance has tilted the other way. Policymakers who once fretted about girls’ lack of confidence in science now spend their time dangling copies of “Harry Potter” before surly boys. Sweden has commissioned research into its “boy crisis”.  Australia has devised a reading program called “Boys, Blokes, Books & Bytes.”

Strong and smart girls are not hard to find. Some inspirational Filipino women were featured yesterday in this column. Today let’s learn about some foreign female celebrities who are said to be geniuses.

SHARON STONE. Sharon Stone’s career took off in 1992 when she starred in the neo-noir erotic thriller, Basic Instinct, as a relative unknown. She became an “it girl” overnight with her performance as femme fatale, Catherine Tramell. But be sure not to stereotype her on appearances, because Stone reportedly possesses an IQ of 154 according to her biography on Edinboro University of Pennsylvania’s website — the university she attended on scholarship when she was only 15-years-old (cheatsheet.com, image source: the Hollywood reporter).
SHAKIRA. Shakira’s reported IQ is 140 and speaks English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese fluently. She is also rumored to be a member of Mensa, but the organization refuses to confirm or deny it (shefinds.com, image source: sacurrent.com).

She learned to read at 3 years old and attended a prestigious French language preparatory school in Los Angeles where she graduated valedictorian. GEENA DAVIS. Actress Geena Davis is said to have an IQ of 140 and she’s a member of Mensa, which is the largest high IQ society in the world. To say Geena Davis is smart would be an understatement (shefinds.com, image source: forbe.com)
CINDY CRAWFORD with her daughter Kaia Gerber. Before she became a supermodel, Cindy Crawford was valedictorian of her high school class and studied chemical engineering at Northwestern. She also has an IQ of 154 (list25.com, image source: vox-cdn.com).
