ELEVEN individuals, mostly kids, were rushed to the hospital on Monday evening after they were downed by food poisoning at Sitio Matigsalug, Barangay Marilog, Marilog District.
The patients were identified as Maricel Misa, 32; Mariel Misa, 1; Janelito Misa, 7; Norbert Misa, 9; Romy Antogon, 35; Beverlyn Antogon, 28; JP Antogon, 7; Kimberly Antogon, 3; Robelyn Antogon, 1; Axel Jhon Dalac, 6; and Rey Colihi Dalac, 16.
According to the report, the caretaker Evangeline Palao told investigators that their employer Geraldina Bocuya from Deca Homes Mintal brought spaghetti when she visited their place at noon on Monday.
But after a few hours, the patients complained of stomach ache and started vomiting.
Central 911 rescuers immediately responded and transported the victims to the hospital.
As of this writing, Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said three of the 11 patients were already in good condition.
Around 2:30 a.m. of October 17, upon follow-up investigation by the responding officers at Kibalang District Hospital, JP Palao Antogon, 7; Axel Palao Jhon Dalac, 6; and Norbert Palao Misa, 9, were already discharged from the medical facility.
Six more are also in stable condition but are still being monitored at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
However, Tuazon said they could not yet ascertain if the spaghetti was the cause of the food poisoning or the tubod (spring water).
