First-ever Lazada university roadshow in Mindanao empowers Local MSMEs to adopt e-commerce

Lazada Philippines expands its presence in Mindanao during its first Lazada University Roadshow

DAVAO CITY – Lazada, a leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, held its first-ever Lazada University Roadshow in Mindanao to empower local sellers to discover the possibilities of e-commerce.

Held at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Davao City, the event was attended by 20 Mindanao-based sellers who learned best practices on how to maximize the Lazada platform.

“To be a successful Lazada seller, you need four things: traffic boosting, assortment growth, joining campaigns, and maintaining a good relationship with your account manager. Basta focus lang sa traffic sa store nimo the sales will follow,” said Kristine Andaya, owner of LazBeauty award-winning store, Kanna Beauty.

Also introduced during the event were special seller packages for local businesses, such as 0% Platform Commission Fee for 90 days, 0% Free Shipping Max Participation for 30 days, 0% Commission Fee for 1 campaign, Free 800 Seller Coins, and Lazada Sponsored Solutions Credits worth P1,200.

Lazada is ramping up efforts to educate local sellers and MSMEs as it launches its new Davao office located on the 6th floor of the Regus-Felcris Centrale Mall. Local sellers can visit for onboarding, attend workshops and seminars, join campaigns, and enroll in seller programs and other platform-sponsored solutions.

“Our vision is to have as many Filipino-owned businesses on the platform, and Lazada’s regional expansion in Mindanao plays a big part in that,” said Audrey Santiago, head of business development, Lazada Philippines.

“During my visit to Davao, I was inspired by the vibrant community of local sellers, many of whom are eager to take their businesses online. By establishing a stronger presence in the region, we aim to make eCommerce more accessible, helping local entrepreneurs grow their customer base and thrive in the digital economy.” Santiago concluded.
