Fire victims receive aid on New Year’s Eve

AT LEAST 500 victims from separate fire incidents received food and cash assistance from First District Rep. Paolo Duterte through the “Pulong Pulong ni Pulong” (PPP) Program, in time for New Year’s Eve. 

Duterte wished every victim safe and sound health throughout the year despite not being able to be present during the relief activity due to prior commitments to his family.

Fire victims in Barangay Leon Garcia, Agdao District, consisting of 133 owners, 165 sharers, 44 renters, and 34 boarders and caretakers, were provided with more than 20 roasted pigs, chicken barbecue, roasted fish, and pancit bihon with rice, ice cream, new clothes, and cash assistance distributed by the PPP. 

The fire, which ignited on Wednesday, Dec. 27, due to an overheated appliance, destroyed at least 300 houses and left 800 people homeless, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection XI.

In the same way, the team also provided immediate assistance to San Francisco de Asis Village in Barangay 74-A Matina Crossing fire victims, including 17 owners, 17 renters, eight boarders, and two sharers. They received food packs, hot porridge, new clothes, cash aid, and other special meals. 

Seven families from the three houses and a commercial building gutted by fire in Purok 33, Ramon Magsaysay, Calinan, also received cash aid last Jan. 2.
