Fire gobbles nine houses

ANOTHER fire erupted on Wednesday morning and gutted nine houses in Apalit Street, Dona Asuncion, Barangay Pampanga.

In an interview on Wednesday, Senior Fire Officer 4 (SFO4) Ramil Gillado, the Davao City Fire District Station spokesperson, said the fire started at the house of Fe Uyanguren Macaraeg around 7:20 a.m.

The flames quickly spread to the neighboring houses, which were also made of light materials.

Firefighters from the stations of Lanang, Panacan, and Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) responded to the scene to put out the fire.

Initial Investigation pointed to an unattended open flame from a lighted candle as the cause.

Luckily, no one was injured in the incident, which was raised to the second alarm level.

Gillado said they could not yet ascertain the estimated cost of damage.
