A MATERNITY clinic and motorcycle shop were razed on fire at Purok 26, Datu Abing St., Calinan Poblacion, around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Senior Fire Officer 4 Ramil Gillado, the spokesperson of the Davao City Fire District, said the fire started at the clinic owned by Angelina Jambo and Catherine Pagaran, owner of Pagaran Motor Parts.
BFP Calinan and Mintal firefighters, volunteers, Central 911 firefighters, and Barangay Calinan Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office rescuers responded to the scene.
They put out the fire at 8:25 a.m.
Gillado added that two other nearby houses were also damaged.
For now, the investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause. But Gillado estimates the damage to reach P700,000.
