Fire eats seven houses, displaces 10 families

SEVEN houses were gobbled by a fire near Roxas Street, Barangay 32-D, around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

Senior Fire Officer 4 Ramil Gillado, the intelligence chief of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) XI, reported the fire started in the residence of Eusebio Rosell Jr.

However, the flames quickly spread because the house was made of light materials.

Firefighters and volunteers responded to the scene immediately to suppress the fire.

FO3 Jinno Mujal from the Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire was under control at 3:42 p.m. and a fire-out was declared at 4:23 p.m. on the same day.

There were no reported casualties but 10 families were displaced. The BFP XI estimates the damage to reach P125,000 while investigating the cause.

The City Social Services and Development Office is conducting an assessment of the affected families for the distribution of financial assistance.
