THE FLORICULTURE Industry of Davao Inc. (FIDI) will host the International Floriculture Congress 2024 on Nov. 21 to 24 at Tagum City Hall.
According to FIDI president Evelyn Laviña, the summit will showcase imported and locally grown flowers and indigenous plants including hybrid plants of local growers. From 60 to 100 sellers will display a variety of plant species such as orchids, bonsais, and many others.
“So we are inviting also the whole of Mindanao kasi let’s start first with our region but trying to develop the whole of Mindanao,” she said during the Agribiz media forum.
Laviña also encourages the youth to attend the International Floriculture Congress 2024 to help sustain the future of the floriculture industry in Davao Region.
The summit will also push more on online selling during the summit as Laviña observed that there are still sellers who prefer to buy online. International sellers from Malaysia, Thailand, and Thailand will also be invited to the event.
FIDI partnered with the City Government of Tagum, Tagum City Tourism Arts and Culture Council, Tagum City Garden, and the support of the Department of Agriculture for the International Floriculture Congress 2024. There will also be other events for November at Tagum City such as a trade fair on Nov. 15.
