- CTTMO worker arrested in a drug buy-bust
A CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) enforcer was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Sta. Ana Police Station along Quimpo Boulevard, Barangay 33-A at 2:46 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Lt. Col. Ronald Lao, Sta. Ana Police Station commander, identified him as Edwin Pabilan, 31, a resident of Barangay Los Amigos.
The suspect was arrested after he allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P4,000.
Further seized from his possession were another sachet of shabu, a foldable tactical knife, a Xiaomi smartphone, and a black coin pouch.
The confiscated drugs weighed 1.4 grams with an estimated street value of more or less P22,000, the report added.
In an interview with reporters, Pabilan denied being a dealer but admitted that he used drugs.
In a separate interview, CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude confirmed that the traffic enforcer was employed by their office for the past six years, with his last assignment in the Bankerohan area.
Abude thanked the police for helping weed out the bad apple from their office. Accordingly, the suspect was the subject of several complaints for lousy behavior.
Meanwhile, the suspect and the pieces of evidence were brought to the City Drug Enforcement Unit custodial facility. Moreover, a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 ( Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against him.
2 workers arrested
Meanwhile, construction workers Eairven Jhames Ampalid, 21, and Eduard Jhon Ampalid were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Rosalina 3, Baliok at 6:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
They handed over a sachet of shabu to an undercover officer in exchange for P500, said Major Romeo Mapanao Jr., commander of Baliok Police Station.
Another four sachets of shabu weighing 2.5 grams worth P17,000 and marijuana fruiting tops weighing five grams worth P600 were seized from their possession.
Mapanao said the suspects were considered street-level Individuals. They are now under the custody of the Baliok Police Station, awaiting a charge of violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
