Emergency power interruptions on July 13 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct emergency power interruptions on July 13, Thursday affecting customers in the northern part of the utility’s franchise area.

These power interruptions are necessary for hotspot correction at Davao Light’s metering facility in NGCP Bunawan Substation.

To avoid longer duration of power interruptions, load from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby lines for 30 minutes anytime between 1:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of the load back to its normal set-up will also be for 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Specifically affected are customers along Mamay Road, from Comus Grill to Crossing Daang Maharlika Highway, and those along Daang Maharlika Highway, from Crossing Mamay Road to Orange Grove Hotel, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are customers along Buhangin-Lapanday Road, from Samulco Buhangin to Panorama Subdivision, and those in the entire Cabantian, Communal, Indangan areas, and a portion of Buhangin, along Diversion Road from COA Office to Panacan Cemetery, including Catitipan, Davao International Airport, and neighboring areas. Customers in the entire Panacan, Ilang, and a portion of Tibungco, including Malagamot and neighboring areas, will also be affected by these service disruptions.

Another set of switching power interruptions will also be conducted on the same day. Load from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby lines for 30 minutes anytime between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m., while the normalization or return of load back to normal set-up will also be for 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Specifically affected are customers in a portion of Tibungco, the entire Bunawan, and Lasang, including Buhisan, Licanan, and neighboring areas. Also affected are those in a portion of Panabo, from Licanan-Task Force Davao to Panabo Bus Terminal, including Panabo City Hall and neighboring areas. Additionally, customers along Tadeco Road, from Crossing Daang Maharlika Highway to Nanyo, and neighboring areas will also be affected by these service disruptions.

Lastly, a four-hour power interruption will be conducted from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the same day, Thursday, July 13, to facilitate the hotspot correction. Specifically affected are customers in a portion of Panabo, from Panabo Bus Terminal to Panabo Wharf, including Gaisano Grand Panabo, Maryknoll, and neighboring areas, as well as those in Carmen, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, including Paquibato, Manay, Tubod, Malitbog, TADECO, DAPECOL, La Libertad, Kimamon, Katipunan, Luna, and nearby areas in Davao del Norte.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these emergency power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
