Effectivity of FM passes starts on April 7: Kraft

City Police Office Director Kirby John Kraft said that the implementation of Food and Medicine (FM) passes will take effect on April 7 even though the enhanced community quarantine starts tonight.

Interviewed by Davao City Disaster Radio on Thursday, Kraft said that Mayor Sara Z. Duterte instructed him to extend the implementation since not all FM passes are distributed to the communities.

“Magbibigay po tayo ng time para ma comply ang distribution bago ma implement etong FM pass,” he said.

Delivered by officials of the barangay officials to residents at their homes, although subdivisions and home association residents may get these from their officials, the passes can only be used with a valid identification cards and other documents that will establish the identity of the bearers and that these are not transferable.

Using a fake pass, which cannot be sold, is punishable by laws and that each house can only have one pass, although a boarder can have one pass.

The law enforcers will put up more checkpoints near public markets as part of the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine which starts tonight.

Kraft said the intention is to put more uniformed personnel, assisted barangay police, in checking whether individuals entering the public markets have food and medicine passes

“They will expect that we will put control points before reaching wet markets,” He added.
