IN LINE with its mandate to protect the integrity of the electoral process, the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) took part in the Nationwide Simultaneous Kick-Off event held on Jan. 12, marking the start of the election period.
The event also saw the reactivation of Regional, Provincial, and City/Municipality Joint Security Control Centers (JSCC), which will serve as security operations hubs throughout the election season.
EastMinCom’s Joint Task Forces (JTFs) Agila and Diamond took part in the reactivation of the Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) as part of preparations for the 2025 National and Local Elections and BARMM Parliamentary Election scheduled on May 12, 2025.
“EastMinCom is committed 100 percent to ensuring clean, honest, and peaceful elections. As agents of democracy and the rule of law, we express our full support for the Comelec and PNP to enforce relevant rules and regulations to prevent violence and disruptions in this election season,” said LtGen. Luis Rex D. Bergante, EastMinCom commander, said.
EastMinCom is tasked to help strictly enforce the election ban in close coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The collaboration aims to ensure a safe and peaceful election by preventing electoral violence and reinforcing the Command’s commitment to safeguarding democratic processes and public safety.
