Lieutenant General Luis Rex D. Bergante, the Commander of Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom), has emphasized the critical role of conflict transformation and genuine reconciliation in the fight against terrorism in Eastern Mindanao.
During his inaugural visit to frontline units under his command from July 29 to August 15, LtGen. Bergante stressed his commitment to boosting operational readiness and the well-being of his troops.
The visit included interactions with soldiers, a “Talk to Troops” session, and strategic discussions focused on maintaining regional peace and security.
“Through conflict transformation and genuine reconciliation, we must pave the way for lasting peace and stability in Eastern Mindanao. Our campaign focuses on ending terrorism by addressing its root causes, encouraging unity, and building resilient communities,” he stated.
LtGen. Bergante is the 14th Commander of EastMinCom, having assumed the position on June 7.
