Eastern Mindanao Command chief joins TUPAD profiling event in Davao Occidental

LIEUTENANT General Luis Rex D. Bergante, the Eastern Mindanao Command chief, participated in the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) profiling event in Malita, Davao Occidental, on September 13.

LtGen. Bergante was joined by Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Antonio Lagdameo Jr., Davao Occidental Governor Franklin Bautista, and Vice Governor Lorna Bautista-Bandigan. 

The event also served as a celebration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s birthday, showcasing their unified support for labor initiatives and the President’s leadership.

On the same day, the Provincial Government of Davao Occidental held a simultaneous distribution of comprehensive government assistance to beneficiaries at the ABC Gymnasium in Malita.

Sec. Lagdameo, led the ceremonial distribution, along with Governor Atty. Franklin P. Bautista, Vice Governor Lorna Bautista-Bandigan, and Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy, DOLE XI Regional Director. Other key officials were also present.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a payout through the TUPAD program to beneficiaries, while the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held a Job Fair to fill 200 job vacancies.

Additionally, the Department of Agriculture (DA) organized a KADIWA trade fair, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) facilitated Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) enrollment.

 The Provincial Health Office (PHO) provided free consultations and distributed medicines, and other agencies offered their respective services.

The event featured a live simulcast of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. from the Municipality of Guimba, Nueva Ecija, for the ceremonial launch of the Agri Puhonan at Pantawid Program, coinciding with his birthday celebration.

This activity underscores a proactive and inclusive strategy aimed at addressing the needs of the people and reinforces the government’s commitment to social welfare and equitable development.
