THE PANTAWID Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4PS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development XI (DSWD XI) kicks off its 15th-year celebration at SM Annex on June 19.

4Ps cover 49 local government units and 1,160 barangays in five provinces. As of May, the program has a total household beneficiary of 224,172, with Davao de Oro topping the most active families at 51,901. The figure represents 23% of the total.

Meanwhile, Davao del Sur has the lowest number of active households, with 27,192, or 10% of the total number.

The DSWD XI continuously implement 4Ps in the poorest community and sustains more households as it will cover more than 100,000 who are subject to validation for this year. The department also anticipates an increase of 30% in self-sufficiency.

The 7year Transformative Learning Path (7TLP) will also launch this year, anchored on family development, where beneficiaries will be monitored and guided as they exit the program before becoming self-sufficient.

Section 4 of Republic Act 11310, or The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Act (4PS) requires beneficiaries to stay in the program for a maximum of seven years.

In addition, the DSWD has a series of activities under the Kilos Unlad Social Case Management Strategy, wherein 161 households were already on the exit program. They conducted the Social Welfare Development Indicator Tool (SWDIT) and the transition assessment form for the graduates.

Evaluators will also prepare summary reports to consolidate and assess the gaps for the remaining intervention needs. The graduates will be endorsed to the LGUs and other partner stakeholders for additional intervention if needed.

In celebration of the 15th year of the 4Ps and the 4th anniversary of R.A. 11310, the DSWD XI will showcase advocacies and campaigns for the beneficiaries and stakeholders, including the “Huwarang Pamilya,” “Salaysay ng Buhay, and “Gulayan sa Tugkaran” which promotes food security among the household communities.
