THE DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DOT) will promote the preservation of the Philippine Culinary Heritage among the youth through a three-day event dubbed “Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago” on April 19-21.

“The purpose of this event is to promote heritage dishes with the hope that our youth will continue to appreciate it and continue [these heritage dishes] to the next generations,” Chin Fuerte, DOT representative, said during the P.E.P Talk in SM Lanang last Tuesday, April 16.

The event targets young Filipinos with activities like food tasting, booth exhibitions from the Department of Agriculture (DOA), lectures, and performances from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

Additionally, the six provinces of Davao Region will showcase their heritage dishes with a modern twist.

The event is open to the public and will be held at Abreeza Activity Center.
