DOLE provides more TUPAD cash aid in Davao del Sur

DAVAO DEL Sur – The Department of Labor and Employment XI, through its Davao del Sur Field Office (DSFO), awarded another check amounting to P950,000 to the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur for the implementation of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program on September 13, 2021 in Davao del SurProvincial Capitol.

Some 158 beneficiaries in the province, who are displaced workers whose livelihood are impacted by the crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, will benefit from the program wherein they will complete a 10-day community work with daily compensation of P396.00.

DOLE XI OIC-Assistant Regional Director Atty. Jason P. Balais, together with Senior Labor and Employment Officer Leo Ariel Pepino and Livelihood Focal Eizarina G. Delos Santos, awarded the check to Governor Marc Douglas IV Chan Cagas and Provincial PESO Manager Rolly M. Impas.

Moreover, DOLE XI-DSFO facilitated a series of TUPAD payout activities from September 16-20, 2021, to distribute the wages of 830 beneficiaries in the province of Davao del Sur. Said activities were in coordination with the Local Government Units of Matanao, Bansalan, Malalag, Sulop, Padada, Kiblawan, and Hagonoy. Minimum health and safety protocols were strictly observed during the conduct of the activities.

“Our ‘Serbisyong TUPAD’ is our commitment to relentlessly serve and assist our vulnerable workers during this tough time. This year, we were able to help 121,950 beneficiaries as of August 2021 and DOLE XI is looking forward to accommodating more beneficiaries under this program,” said OIC-Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy.

TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers is a community based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
