The theme given for this year’s National Kidney Month is ‘Malusog na Bato, Abot Kamay ng Bawat Pilipino.’ The event aims to highlight the importance of kidney health and address common notions on kidney diseases and organ donation.

Health Undersecretary Abdullah Dumama Jr., SPMC Kidney and Transplant Institute head Maria Theresa Bad-ang, and notable health experts were present to share their knowledge on kidney health.

In his speech, Dumama announced the opening of an urgent care facility in Davao City to decompress emergency rooms and cater to local health concerns beyond operating hours.

Chronic Kidney disease survivors also graced the runway during the fashion competition. Liezl Jane Tabay won the fashion show competition, Ryan Sumampong won the first runner-up and Javan Angol won the second runner-up.

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa showed up at the event and promised to prioritize the Health sector in the Senate.

“I assure you we shall continue to prioritize the health sector in the Senate. Knowing the hardships that you are immune to, We will not turn a blind eye to your dedication and commitment. I will make sure of that,” he said.
