THE DAVAO Light and Power Company (DLPC) said residential consumers will expect an increase of P0.6626 per kilowatt hour (kWh) in their power consumption for the November billing period.
In a statement posted by DLPC through their Facebook advisory, their overall residential electricity rate increased to P9.1101/kWh from P8.4475/kWh last month.
“This is due to higher power supply prices from the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in Mindanao, where Davao Light sources a part of its power requirement,” the statement said.
DLPC stressed that market prices are volatile thus changes in the power rates are expected every month.
“Since rates are uncontrollable, Davao Light customers can still have control over their electricity bills by focusing on their consumption. The power distribution utility encourages customers to efficiently and wisely manage their energy consumption to avoid high electricity bills,” DLPC added.
Davao Light, an AboitizPower subsidiary, drives community development in its franchise area – covering Davao City, Panabo City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali, and Sto. Tomas – through its processes and technologies.
DLPC also shared their respective lines that can only be reached by calls through mobile phones and does not receive text messages.
