THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) XI will host the Regional ICT Summit and Expo on Nov. 8 as part of the Innovation Summit 2024 at the SMX Convention Center.
DICT XI IT officer Engr. Albert Gabriel said that the one-day event will share opportunities related to the ICT industry to participants in Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental.
“Part of that program is that we will be trying to showcase what is the importance of the IT-BPM industry in the whole region and then how the remaining provinces outside Davao City would contribute to that,” Gabriel said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw.
The event will still promote Davao City as the hub of the IT-BPM industry and encourage the participation of the academe similar to the first Digital Careers and ITBPM Expo 2024 held at the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MCM) last Oct 25.
The Regional ICT Summit and Expo will have discussions that include infrastructures needed by local government units to attract IT-BPM industry locators.
“We’re gonna be showcasing the effectivity and good practices of the ICT council on how they contribute to the local economy of a certain city,” Gabriel said.
DICT XI collaborated with ICT Davao, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII), and the City Government of Davao for the Regional ICT Summit and Expo. The event will be attended by IT-BPM industry CEOs, local chief executives from LGUs of Davao Region, and the office of the Undersecretary for the ICT Industry Development Bureau.
The Innovation Summit 2024 will run from Nov 7 to 9 at the SMX Convention Center inviting 300 participants to showcase cutting-edge technologies, the future of technology, and a platform for top-level discussions from businesses, innovators, and policymakers.
ICT Davao executive director Atty. Ryan Lee Messias added that there will be a pre-event of the Innovation Summit 2024 on Nov 6 namely a job fair at the NCCC Victoria Plaza.
