THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has deployed over 200 personnel to secure Mayor Sebastian Duterte’s second State of the City Address (SOCA) on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024.
In an interview on Monday, Capt. Hazel Tuazon, the DCPO spokesperson, confirmed that 25 personnel were already deployed in a “soft deployment” phase, with the full force of 208 officers to blanket City Hall and its surroundings on Tuesday.
Tuazon said no additional security support was requested from other agencies. Nonetheless, the DCPO remains vigilant despite the zero threats they initially identified.
It is yet unconfirmed whether Vice President Sara Duterte and former President Rodrigo Duterte will attend the SOCA.
The public is reminded to practice a “culture of security and cooperation” and adhere to the security measures in place for the event.
Tuazon emphasized the importance of following the do’s and dont’s when attending such significant city events.
