DCPO: opening of classes peaceful 

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) recorded zero crime incidents in schools during the first day of classes in the city. 

DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said the opening of classes on Monday, July 29 is peaceful with no problems encountered [in terms of security assessment. Traffic conditions, especially near schools, were also normal.

Tuazon added that police personnel were deployed in different schools in the city while a patrol was also conducted in those located in remote areas. 

She said they deployed two police officers in each public school to help maintain the orderly opening of classes.

She added the police officers have been ordered not just to guard the school but also to assist both the students and parents.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education XI has recorded 1,116,023 enrollees in public schools across the Davao region for this school year.
