DCPO intensifies campaign against youth violence following recent incidents

DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) personnel were directed to intensify their efforts in preventing and addressing youth-related violence.

Acting DCPO director Colonel Hansel Marantan said the directive followed the recent spate of violent incidents, including the assault on a call center agent in Matina and the stoning of a man in Ma-a.

“We will be increasing police visibility in areas identified as hotspots for youth violence,” Marantan said. “This will allow for a swift response to any disturbances and facilitate the immediate apprehension of those involved,” he added.

The directive also came amid concerns raised by the local government regarding the recent surge in youth-related violence.

Marantan emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach to address this issue, including community engagement programs, educational campaigns, and close coordination with other government agencies.
