DCPO denies allegation of beating two women inside Buhangin Police Station

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is looking into the incident of physical assault involving an intoxicated female minor and her lesbian partner while being detained in the Buhangin Police Station for disorderly conduct.

On April 28, 2025, the DCPO said it became aware of the circulating Facebook post regarding the alleged beating of two women inside Police Station 5, headed by commander Major Dante Baguio.

The two women were turned over to the police by the village watchmen of Barangay Communal for alleged commotion during a drinking spree. Allegedly, the minor and her lesbian partner were punched, slapped, and choked by the minor’s stepfather and uncle.

However, while still intoxicated, the two raised a ruckus in the station and “exhibited violent and aggressive behavior” toward the police personnel and auxiliary officers who attempted to restrain and pacify them.

“The personnel exercised maximum tolerance and strictly observed the protocols outlined in the Philippine National Police Operational Procedures (PNP POP). Their actions were solely intended to prevent further harm or injury to the individuals themselves, the police personnel, and others present,” the DCPO said.

“An internal investigation is currently underway to ensure transparency and accountability in this matter,” it said.
